What the Raindance AI video trend is
"Raindance" is a Dave song featuring Tems. Its music video has a pier scene. One person waits at the end of a wooden pier. The other walks up in a white dress and sings to the camera. They end up side by side on the sand.
The AI trend recasts that scene with new people. You give two photos and the site renders the pier, the song and the lip movement. Kapwing's guide (8 Oct 2026) says many creators pair friends, couples, rivals or characters for parody. The song is real; only the video is AI, per Kapwing.

- 10 to 18 s: she dances on the pier and sings in close-up, sea behind her.

Photos you need
- Two photos, one person per photo. Group photos do not work (burningbridgesai.app).
- Photo 1 plays the person waiting on the pier. Photo 2 plays the singer, whose face fills most shots (makeviral.ai).
- Clear face, good light, chest-up or waist-up. Portrait or square crop, at least 341 px per side (burningbridgesai.app). No sunglasses or beauty filters.
- Getstarrd.app takes one or two photos; the second is optional.
- Use yourself and adults who agreed. Both sites ask for photos of yourself or adults who agreed; public figures only as clear parody, at your own risk.
- Outfits matter: Kapwing's guide says the outfit in your photo replaces the original one.

What goes wrong
- A character swaps roles after a cut. Kapwing notes that a workflow may lose a character's assignment after a cut or leave solo shots unchanged.
- Unclear faces. Avoid sunglasses, hands in front of the face, heavy hair coverage and filters (Kapwing).
- Group photos fail. One person per photo.
- Unwanted jewelry or props. Kapwing's prompt tells the model to keep hands and wrists bare unless the reference shows accessories.
- Muted sound. Use the platform's own library if the track is silent.
